Stake to an additional string

NOTE – This stakeout method can be used when staking from a road design file. It does not apply when staking Strings and surfaces.

To stake your position relative to an additional string

In the stakeout selection screen, tap the additional string in the map, or select To an additional string in the Stake field and then tap to select the string from the list.
If required, add the following features:
- To set stakes offset from the road, leaving the roadway clear for construction, define a construction offset.
- To confirm the construction of the road surface, define a cross slope.
Tap Start.

The Road navigation screen appears. Tap Options to configure preferences for the navigation display, grade, as-staked point details, or to view stakeout deltas relative to a digital terrain model (DTM).
Use the information in the Road navigation screen to see your position relative to the road and navigate to the point to stake it out.
When the point is within tolerance, tap Measure to measure the point.
Tap Store.

The software returns to the navigation screen.

To continue measuring points along the road, tap the Sta+ or Sta‑ softkey to select the next or previous station.

If you have enabled the Auto increment field in the Select station screen then the next or previous station is automatically selected. See Stations available for stakeout.
To change stakeout methods, and stake:
- To the road, double-tap an empty part of the map.
- To a string, tap the string in the map.
- A Station on a string, tap the station on a string in the map.
To exit this stakeout method, tap Esc.

To stake a station on an additional string

Tap the station on the additional string in the map, or select Station on additional string in the Stake field and then tap to select the string from the list.

To select a different station, tap the Sta‑ or Sta+ softkey, or tap next to the Station field and select the station.
If required, add the following features:
- To set stakes offset from the road, leaving the roadway clear for construction, define a construction offset.
- To confirm the construction of the road surface, define a cross slope.
Tap Start.

To edit the Design elevation, press the Space key or tap next to the Design elevation delta and enter the new value. The original design elevation is automatically restored as soon as you change the design or the section of the design being staked, or once you exit stakeout. To restore the original elevation during stakeout after you have edited it, press the Space key or tap and then tap next to the Design elevation field and select Reload original elevation.
When the point is within tolerance, tap Measure to measure the point.
Tap Store.

The software returns to the navigation screen.
