Measurement messages and warnings

Depending on the equipment you are using and the settings you have configured in the survey style, different types of warnings may appear during when measuring points in a GNSS survey.

GNSS messages

To discard GNSS messages and prevent them reappearing, tap Ignore in the message. For non‑RTX messages, the message is discarded and does not appear again. For Trimble RTX correction service messages, only messages regarding the same subscription status are ignored; if the subscription status changes then the Ignore setting is reset and messages appear. Tapping Ignore is controller‑specific; if you use the same GNSS receiver with a different controller then the Ignore setting for that controller is used and the messages may reappear.

Occupation warnings

During a point measurement the software warns if there are adverse conditions that result in any of the tolerances being exceeded and prevent the point being stored.

To accept the measurement before the occupation time or precisions have been satisfied or while there are conditions preventing point storage, tap .

When you tap Store, the Confirm and store point? screen lists all issues that occurred during the measurement, in order of priority.

Tap Yes to store the point. Tap No to discard the point. To remeasure the point, tap Remeasure.

The Position compromised warning appears when the receiver is in static mode measuring a point and a new GNSS position is different from the immediately previous GNSS position by more than the current 3‑sigma precision estimates. This warning appears only when the difference in position is larger than the current precision tolerances, and if the GNSS receiver does not produce excess movement warnings of its own during the occupation. The position compromised warning can occur in severely marginal GNSS environments where there is a lot of multipath or signal attenuation. The QC1 occupation warnings information enables you to tell if this happened while observing a point stored in the database.

No occupation warnings appear when you are measuring a Rapid point.

If you are using a GNSS receiver with a built-in tilt sensor, tilt warnings may also appear. See GNSS eBubble tilt warnings.
