To create a Line transformation

Local transformation support is available only when the Advanced Geodetic option is enabled in the Cogo settings screen of the job properties.

  1. Tap and select Cogo / Adjust / Transformations.
  2. Select Manage local transformations. Tap Next.
  3. Select Create new transformation. Tap Next.
  4. Set the Transformation type to Line and then enter the Transformation name.
  5. Select the Start point and then enter the corresponding Grid (local) coordinates in the North (local) and East (local) fields.
  6. Select the End point and then enter the corresponding Grid (local) coordinates in the North (local) and East (local) fields.
  7. Tap Calc.
  8. Check the computed transformation distances and then select a Scale factor type to fit the local grid positions to the database grid positions. If you select:

    • Free – The computed scale factor is applied to the Grid (local) values in both local axes.
    • Fixed to 1.0 – No scaling is applied.
    • The Grid (local) values are used in the transformation but have no scaling applied to them. The start point is the origin point of the transformation.

    • Along the local northing axis only – The computed scale factor is applied to the Grid (local) northing values only during the transformation.

'Grid points' do not have to be stored as grid points, but the Origin software must be able to compute grid coordinates for the point.

  9. Tap Store.

The transformation appears in the map as a black dashed line between the start grid point and the end grid point.
