To edit antenna and target height records
You can review and edit target height records after measuring points.
The target height record refers to conventional target heights and the GNSS antenna heights.
To change a target/antenna height record and automatically update all observations using that height record, use Review job.
If there are a group of target/antenna height records and only some of them need to be changed, use Point manager.
Take care when changing target/antenna height records. In particular, be aware of the following:
- When measuring or staking out points using IMU tilt compensation, make very sure the entered antenna height and measurement method is correct. Alignment reliability and pole tip position reliability, especially during movement of the antenna while the pole tip is stationary, relies completely on the antenna height being correct. Residual error in horizontal position caused by antenna motion while measuring when the pole tip is stationary cannot be removed by changing the antenna height after measuring the point.
- When you change target/antenna height record in the database, stakeout deltas, Cogo points, averaged points, calibrations, resections, and traverse results are not automatically updated. Re‑observe staked out points, and recalculate Cogo points, averaged points, calibrations, resections, and traverses.
- Offset points that are stored as coordinates are not updated when you change a target/antenna height record in the database.
A change in antenna height does not affect any postprocessed points that will be processed using the Survey Office software. Verify the target/antenna height information when you transfer the data to the office computer or transfer postprocessed points directly from the receiver to the office software.
Some conventional measurements use calculated (system) targets, which have a zero height and zero prism constants, for example, Dual‑prism offset. You cannot edit the target heights for system targets.

- Tap the target/antenna record. The current target (conventional survey) or antenna (GNSS survey) details appear.
-
Enter the new details.
-
Tap Accept.
The current record is updated with the new details, which apply to all subsequent observations using that record.
When you change a target/antenna height record, a note with a time stamp is attached to the record. This note documents the old height details, including when the changes were made.

- Tap
and select Job data / Point manager.
- Tap Display and select Target height to show the Target height/Antenna height column.
-
Tap a record to select it. To select multiple records, press and hold Ctrl to select records from anywhere in the list, or press and hold Shift to select a group of records from the list.
- You do not need to select contiguous target and/or antenna heights to edit.
- You cannot edit a selection of antenna heights that includes more than one type of antenna. Select and edit the points in separate groups, according to the type of antenna used.
- You can edit a selection of different targets. The new target heights are applied to each of the different targets but the target numbers remain unchanged.
- If you have selected:
- one record, the point details screen appears.
- multiple records, tap Edit and then select Targets.
-
If you are editing the:
-
target height, edit the measured target height value, the measurement method (when applicable), and the prism constant.
When measuring to the notch on a Spectra Geospatial traverse prism base, tap
and then select S notch.
- antenna height, edit the measured heights and the measurement method.
If your point selection included points with target heights and points with antenna heights, two edit dialogs appear – one to edit antenna heights and one to edit target heights.
-
-
Tap Accept.
The corrected details are shown in the Point manager.
The software automatically inserts notes into the job database to record what was edited, the original measurement data, and the time of the edit. You can view the edited records and notes in Review job.
