To relinquish software licenses
If the Relinquish licenses tab is available in Installation Manager, you can remove the software licenses from the connected device so that they can be transferred to a new device.
To relinquish any software license from a device, all the licenses on the device for that software product must be relinquished. The device must have a valid software maintenance agreement. Licenses cannot be relinquished within 3 months of activation.
Once the licenses have been relinquished, you cannot use the software on the existing device. Your distributor must complete the steps to assign the licenses to the new device. To minimize the delay between the transfer of the licenses, Spectra Geospatial recommends that you discuss your license transfer requirements with your distributor before you relinquish the licenses from the device.

To relinquish licenses from the connected device
- Make sure the appropriate software product is selected in the product bar.
- Select the Relinquish licenses tab.

Tap Sign in and then sign in using your Trimble ID. See To sign in.
The licenses currently assigned to the connected device are shown in the Relinquish licenses tab of the Installation Manager window.

Tap Relinquish.
All software applications and licenses for the selected product are removed from the device.
A confirmation message appears. You will be sent an email detailing which licenses have been relinquished.
If you are relinquishing an Origin license, files in the Spectra Geospatial Data folder are saved to a local folder on the device running Installation Manager.

Forward the email you receive to your distributor, along with any other information required by the distributor.
Your distributor will assign the licenses to the new device. Once this is done, the software can be installed to the new device.
